How to plan the perfect holiday

January 23, 2019

What do you want to do?

Don’t attempt to pinpoint a holiday destination straight away. Start by thinking more broadly; do I want to relax on a beach, explore a big city, or get back to nature?

Consider the season

Once you know what you feel like doing, you can narrow your choice down to a time of year, or season. For example, if you want to head to New York at Christmas time, you’d better like the cold.

How long do you want to stay?

You might think a long break is better, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes a short holiday can be more reinvigorating, especially when you’re living out of a suitcase.

Consider the practicalities

Do you need to get vaccinations? What about visa’s and travel insurance?

Plan activities

If you’re going somewhere new, consider planning local activities like food or sightseeing tours. They can be a great way to explore the city/region without the stress of getting out and about on your own.

Or just find a travel agent

If you really can’t be bothered Googling hotels, reading endless reviews, navigating countless flight booking websites – just visit a travel agent.

A travel agent can handle every aspect of your holiday, from the airline tickets and transfers to local tours and even visa’s and travel insurance. Travel agents also have access to exclusive deals that you won’t find online.

A travel agent can also provide you with local insight because ATAS accredited agents are trained destination experts. They know how to sort through the myriad of travel information and know the local pitfalls, so you don’t have to.
